Shahbaz Choudhry Joins Bowlfit - 0.2
Shahbaz Choudhry Joins Team Bowlfit, Headed by Legendary Australian Fast Bowler, Mitchell Johnson & Former Cricket Australia, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Jock Campbell.
I’m amazed at the amount of criticism that strength & conditioning gets in the world of cricket and fast bowling.
Here’s something that might surprise you though, the criticism is justified.
Why?
Because it’s SO EASY to mess up S&C for fast bowling.
For as long as I can remember, I made S&C a priority in my training. In fact, I was often criticised for spending more time on the fitness side of things instead of actually bowling.
From replicating Mike Tyson’s 5am regime to educating myself and coming up with my own programmes, I’ve lost count of the different types of training that I’ve done in order to become fitter, faster and stronger.
I’ve been lucky (like, SO LUCKY) to further expand my knowledge through spending time with some of the greats in this field:
Peter Marcasciano & Ruben Tabares - who have trained world class athletes across multiple sports.
Rob Ahmun - the National Strength & Conditioning Lead for the England Cricket team.
Jock Campbell - the former Australian S&C coach during their most dominant era (2000 - 2005) and the man whom Brett Lee stated helped him reach the 160kph mark.
Strength & conditioning is so important for any athlete, let alone a fast bowler.
When I first came across Bowlfit, I was impressed.
When I actually downloaded the app and understood how it worked, I was shocked.
It’s an awesome and fundamental piece of technology that every fast bowler needs to have.
When it comes to fitness, ‘generic’ doesn’t work (in my opinion). You need to be specific with a programme that is designed FOR YOU. And programming itself is one of the hardest challenges to get right.
Bowlfit takes it entirely out of the equation.
Imagine having your own S&C coach in your back pocket, that’s Bowlfit!
I’m super proud and excited to be joining the Bowlfit team and helping them reach the audience they deserve.
Thank you to everyone for their support and well wishes.
