As some of you may know, we have been using various new pieces of technology with players during sessions - one of these devices is the Catapult Vector S7.

Following some outstanding results from our brief trial period, we are extremely proud and excited to announce that SpeedCamp has signed a three year exclusive partnership with Catapult Sports; the world’s leading wearable technology in cricket.

At present, Catapult is only available to leading nations and top professional teams around the world.

As a company that is driven by performance science and cutting edge technology, we are proud to be the only private coaching institute in the world who has access to Catapult Vector S7 and its analytical software, Openfield.

This allows us to provide our players with technology, insights and data that is currently only accesible at the international level.

As part of a £50,000 investment in the latest and most reliable state of the art technology, the SpeedCamp team will now also include an in-house data analyst to support our coaches moving forward.

What does the Catapult Vector S7 do?

Previously, SpeedCamp has used off-the-shelf GPS devices to assess run-up and sprint speed.

Catapult Vector S7 goes a step further - its capabilities are far more advanced than anything currently on the market. It can capture 100 events per second that include per-step speed, instantaneous acceleration and deceleration, max rotation, foot strikes detection, impact force and a lot more!

As you can imagine, no matter how well trained the human eye is - it’s physically impossible to detect and interpret such a vast amount of information in real time.

During our trial period, we have been fascinated by the insights that Catapult has uncovered which has already helped clear doubts, confirm assumptions, provide clarity and help bowlers increase their bowling speed.
