Pakistan Fast Bowler, Muhammad Hasnain at SpeedCamp - 1.1
We recently added Pakistan fast bowler Muhammad Hasnain to our roster of players who visited SpeedCamp for specialist fast bowling coaching.
Hasnain took to social media to share the following feedback: “It was an absolute pleasure working with Shahbaz Choudhry at SpeedCamp last week. He is a specialist fast bowling coach and I’m very grateful that he took the time out to use his vast experience to guide me further on technique and skill”. As he is currently one of the fastest bowlers in the world, we are extremely proud and excited by this link-up and aim to support Hasnain to the best of our ability in his development moving forward.
During our sessions, the primary focus was understanding how Hasnain generated his speed and exploring areas where he could improve his inefficiencies.
As well as technical coaching, we got him on the VALD ForceDecks to assess his Dynamic Strength Index. As an elite fast bowler (especially one coming back from injury), it's important to know what your body is capable of and not capable of doing. Not only does such data give you a baseline for where you're at - but it also gives you clarity on what you need to do to improve further. Hasnain surprised us with his results. Contrary to what people may think about subcontinent cricketers who don't spend much time in the gym, Hasnain presented strong scores across the board!
From our interactions with Hasnain, we’ve been taken aback by his humility, ambition, and dedication to maximise his potential. Although Hasnain is known as one of the fastest in the game, his bowling speed suffered after his injury. When he joined us, he said that he hadn’t hit 140kph in a while and that being able to hit (and surpass) that mark is a priority for him.
In his first over in the 2024 PSL, he not only hit 140kph, but he also got close to 150kph. We couldn’t be happier for him!
We’ve profiled players of all levels and abilities ranging from 50mph to 92mph. Hasnain is one of the most gifted fast bowlers on the planet. The speeds he can reach are frightening. His ability to realise his full potential will depend on many factors and I hope he gets the opportunity to maximise his talent.
